This post isn’t a story, but rather just something I thought. What is love? What does it mean to be in love? As a teen we use the word all the time. It is thrown around lightly and used way too often. But do we ever really think about what the word love means, what love is. So to answer that question I’m gonna give some quotes and a couple pictures.
“Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own.”
— Robert A. Heinlein
“If you love two people at the same time, choose the second. Because if you really loved the first one, you wouldn’t have fallen for the second.”
— Johnny Depp
~To me love, or rather what I know to be love, is wanting someone else’s happiness above your own. To love them no matter what happens. True love is to look past their mistakes, their flaws and love them for who they are now. Love is to live through the pain of seeing them with someone else, but cheering them on because you know how happy it makes them. Love is staying by their side and trusting and believing in them no matter what others say. Love is to want to be with them always, but knowing not to be too clingy. Love is being ready to be there for them under any circumstance, and thinking of them constantly. Love is wishing they were with you when ever you have a chance to think. Love is wanting simply the warmth of their hand on yours, or the warmth their quick hug gives you. Love is being able to make up after disagreements. And above all, love is being strong and their for each other no matter how many years past. Love is to be friends before anything else.
